Welcome to Stamp-Heaven. Be sure to read our submission guidelines before submitting your stamps.

Hello dear members of Stamp-Heaven,

Greetings from your friendly neighborhood admin, HarmonicSonic. It's great to see so many new members joining our group and submitting with such enthusiasm! In light of that, however, we have some reminders for those wishing to submit stamps, as well as a slight change in the group policy. When you are submitting stamps, please make sure they conform to the group rules before submitting them. The rules will be posted in this blog entry, and all future entries will link to this one so you can easily find them.

New Group Policy

Due to the volume of submissions we have been receiving lately, we are in the working to streamline the process a bit more. The submission rules have been clearly posted in the past, and there is no reason not to read them before submitting stamps. Therefore, if your stamps do not follow the rules, they will be declined without explanation or comment. If your submission is declined and you don't know why, review the rules in this blog post before asking an admin why it was declined. If you believe a submission was declined in error, please state specifically what you think the mistake is. Otherwise, our only response (if any) will be a link to this blog entry. The submission rules are as follows:

Requirements for stamps

  • Size:

Stamps submitted to the group must be exactly 99 pixels wide and 56 pixels tall. Stamps of any other size will be declined. There are three exceptions to this rule. One, if a stamp is 75 x 35 or smaller, it may only be submitted to the "Small Stamps" gallery. Two, if a stamp is 125 x 75 or larger, it may only be submitted to the "Large Stamps" gallery. Three, if a stamp is just a couple pixels off from the standard size of 99 x 56, it must be submitted to the "Odd-Sized Stamps" gallery.

  • Shape:

Again, stamps must be 99 pixels wide and 56 pixels tall. If a stamp is a vertical stamp, square stamp, or a stamp that in some way does not fit the standard rectangular shape (this includes circle-shaped stamps, heart-shaped stamps, stamps with elements that go outside the border, etc.), it must be submitted to the "Shaped Stamps" gallery. Otherwise, it will be declined.

  • Transparency:

Stamps must include the classic "ridged" border, complete with transparency between the ridges. If a stamp does not have that transparency, it must be submitted to the "Stickers and Banners" gallery, or it will be declined. If you are wondering about transparency, the first thing you should do is check what program you're using to make your stamps. MS Paint does not allow transparency, so you cannot use it to create stamps for this group. If you are using a different program, make sure you are saving your files in .png or .gif format.

  • Content:

There has been a fairly high volume of submissions lately that include controversial opinions, often conveyed in a very rude manner. If you have a stamp with a controversial message, it must be submitted to the "Controversy, Dislike, and Hate Stamps" gallery. However, if we find that a submission is overly rude, offensive, inappropriate, or in violation of DeviantART's Etiquette Policy, the submission will be declined.  Final discretion rests with myself and our founder, WishmasterAlchemist. Repeated breaking of this particular rule will result in removal from the group.

If your stamp was declined...

The first step you should take is read these rules. After that, take any steps you need to take to make your stamp acceptable and resubmit it to the group. Do not just submit it again unchanged or it will be declined. If you repeatedly resubmit a declined stamp without making changes to it, you will be banned from the group. Remember, correcting a stamp will usually be a matter of either resizing it or fixing the transparency. If you've submitted a stamp to the wrong gallery (i.e. you submit to "Causes" when you need to submit to "TV and Film"), we will decline it, but we will still tell you where to resubmit it.  This does not apply to incorrectly-sized stamps, however.

To Conclude

Okay, so I realize this is a lot to take in. I know it sounds very stern, but we're not just out to get you. This change in policy frees up the admins to handle some of the other behind-the-scenes functions of making the group as good an experience as possible for you as members. If there is something you are unsure of, please don't hesitate to ask us - we're here to help you! Meanwhile, thanks for continuing to support our group (don't forget that we have a donation pool on my page for making this group a super group!), and keep up the good work!

I was just admitted into the group as a contributor, and haven't found a "Q&A" section yet, so I was wondering if fancy stamp borders were allowed?
